The Shower
The shower is a magical place
The warm water allows the mind to wander
It seeps in through the scalp
And whispers ideas the dry mind would never ponder
As a curious child I explored this notion
Of the magic of temperature in the shower
I slowly turned the water up
The extreme heat giving me power
It burned at first but never severe
But that's because I eased the gear
That allowed more heat to fall on me
Never anticipating the catastrophe
The thoughts consumed and digested my brain
The excrement that left overflowing the drain
I became like a zombie in my everyday life
The leftovers of my brain creating more strife
But one day I realized the source of my problems
The journey that I had started as a child
Getting used to the heat which dissolved my mind
Creating the thoughts that my brain now defiles
I now know that I must stop this madness
To stop the water that my mind loves seizing
My hand reaches for the gear as it’s done so many times before
And I turn the water down to freezing
